Pond Hockey Classic a Success

Congratulations are in order to Walt Cammack’s “Bumbles” as well as many thanks to Walt himself.  Not only did Walt open up the Lakers Bake Sale and fundraising effort each day of this event at 7:00AM but he found the time to win the Championship in the forty plus division too! Great to see the local boys come out on top and Walt showed he could do everything - including sell popcorn in the stands!

Please join me in giving a very special thanks to Cindy Haradon who spent countless hours organizing this event on behalf of the Lakers as well as spending each day helping to make sales and keep things on track. She put a considerable amount of time into this for all of our players so be sure to let her know you a appreciate it when you see her in the rink. Kudos too go out to Rick Muthersbaugh who was there helping the Lakers raise money through the majority of the entire event as well as providing his van for transportation. Thank you Rick!

Also, please help me thank all the volunteers who not only baked but braved the cold and gave so unselfishly of their time often racing from or missing hockey games to man the Laker tables. The tables were outside and exposed to the wind and cold but no one complained and all represented Lakes Region Youth Hockey and youth hockey itself so very well. My sincere apologies if I miss anyone - thanks to Dave McGreevy, Charlie Gallagher, Rhonda & John Hanaway, Lisa Buckley, Walt Cammack, Karen & Rick Muthersbaugh , Cindy Haradon, Craig Hale, Rich Ricker, Jeff & Madison Monier, Michelle Saylor, Bill & Kerri Dexter and Kerri’s brother Jeff Tracy, Kari Parent, Brock & Tina Harriman, Heather Ayres, Paula McDonough, Lorrie Scandalis and Kelly Dyer-Rawlings.

Finally, thank you again to all our great bakers who helped make this a successful fundraiser. Without all your delicious goodies, we would not have anything to sell. Thanks to all!
